Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's inventive digital micro theatre retells classic stories re-imagined and modernized for today.

Keonté & Antonio Beals released their self-published children's book "I Am Perfectly Me" which highlights BIPOC kids in hopes to empower them and let them know their differences are what makes them unique and beautiful. Representation is so important, especially in today's world. Follow each character in this book as they show you how perfect they are by being themselves. "We want this book to inspire kids of all races, sizes, genders, and backgrounds to know that they are beautiful and that all of the weird things about them are what make them who they are. Embrace who you are! Self-love is the most important thing in life and should be instilled in children at birth."

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia presents children’s stories through the magic of Story Box Theatre – the company’s newest digital initiative bringing beloved tales to life. In "Billy Goats Gruff," three famished goats embark on a daring journey across a bridge to savour the lush greenery beyond, outsmarting a cunning troll who schemes beneath. Meanwhile, "Rumpel" spins the timeless yarn of Rumpelstiltskin's crafty bargains with a miller's daughter, and "The Sky is Falling" recounts the comical misadventures of Chicken Little. "I am Perfectly Me" by African-Nova Scotian Keonte Beals celebrates the beauty of self-acceptance.

Each narrative, spanning 10 to 20 minutes, delivers a delightful escape into imagination. With four captivating stories to explore, Story Box Theatre promises an immersive journey into the wonders of storytelling.
